Labcorp and Lobbie Integration
This guide provides a step-by-step walkthrough for integrating LabCorp with your Lobbie account and managing lab orders efficiently.
View the video walkthrough for an introduction to the feature.
Initial Setup and Configuration
To begin using LabCorp within Lobbie, you must first link your accounts.
Request Integration: Contact support@lobbie.com to initiate the setup process.
Required Information: You must provide your multi-digit LabCorp Integration ID (supplied by LabCorp) to the support team.
The Lobbie support team will then enable the integration for your account.
Managing Lab Favorites
Favorites allow you to group frequently used tests from the LabCorp compendium to ensure consistent ordering across your organization.
Navigate to the Lab configuration area and select Labcorp from the vendor drop down.
The select Add Favorite.
Assign a name to the favorite group.
Search for and select tests from the LabCorp compendium to add to the group.
Note: A favorites group must contain at least one test, but can include multiple tests.
Click Create Favorite to save.
How to Order LabCorp Tests
We recommend ordering labs directly through an actual patient encounter to ensure results are automatically tied to the patient’s clinical chart.
Initiate the Order
From a patient encounter or the general Lab area, select Order Labs.
Select LabCorp as the vendor.
Patient and Provider Details
- Demographics: Review the auto-populated data. LabCorp requires specific details such as race and ethnicity; fill these in if they are missing.
Provider & Collection: Confirm the provider, collection date, and time.
Test Selection
You can add tests to an order in two ways:
Favorites: Select a pre-configured favorite group to add all associated tests at once.
Manual Search: Search the LabCorp compendium for specific individual tests.
Review: Always double-check the order to ensure it contains only the necessary tests before clicking continue.
Additional Data
- Test-Specific Questions: If any selected tests require additional information, clinical questions will appear. Complete these to proceed.
- Diagnoses: Select existing diagnoses from the patient's health profile or add new ones as required for the tests.
Tracking Orders and Viewing Results
After submitting the order, the status will update to "In Progress".
Requisition Forms: You can download the PDF requisition form by opening the order in the Lab section or via the patient's chart.
Viewing Results: Once LabCorp processes the tests, results will be posted back to Lobbie as a PDF. You can view these results directly within the system.
More Information
This feature is available for Lobbie EMR customers located in the USA.
Selecting Tests
- Labcorp sends an updated test catalog weekly
- Some tests include required questionnaires
- Specialized tests (e.g., pathology) may ask for collection site details
Example:
When ordering an Adult Blood Test, you may see a required question such as “Is the patient fasting?” Required questions are clearly marked and must be answered before submission.
Reviewing Results
- Labcorp transmits completed results via HL7 directly into Lobbie
- Results are automatically attached to the patient’s chart
- Each order includes:
- Lab Results PDF
- Original Requisition PDF (from Labcorp)
The requisition number shown in Lobbie is the official Labcorp Order ID
Cancellations & Invalid Orders
Invalid Orders
- Labcorp’s system may accept invalid or incomplete orders.
- If Labcorp later flags the order as invalid, they will contact the site directly.
Lobbie cannot cancel Labcorp orders.
How to Cancel
