This feature is currently only available to Lobbie EMR customers in the United States.
Overview
When setting up a new patient subscription in Lobbie, we highly recommend collecting an initial payment and then scheduling future recurring payments. This ensures that the first transaction is processed immediately to validate the payment method, while subsequent payments are handled automatically by Priority Payments on their scheduled dates.
Important: If you create a subscription with today’s date, the payment will not be processed immediately. Instead, it will be queued and processed later by Priority Payments' automated system. This would delay validation of the payment method. To ensure the payment runs right away and to confirm the card is valid, we highly recommend using the Quick Pay feature for the initial charge.
Example Workflow: TRT Patient Subscription
For a patient starting testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), you would typically create an invoice with the following items:
- Initial TRT Payment (1.01) – charged immediately via Quick Pay
- TRT Subscription – set to begin 4 weeks from the initial visit
- Initial Labs (10.01) – charged immediately
- Annual Labs (10.02) – scheduled for 1 year in the future
This setup results in:
- Immediate payment for the initial TRT injection and labs
- Scheduled, automatic billing for future TRT injections and annual labs through the subscription system
